Rescue Sues Over Puppy Bone Disease
9 Jun
Summary
- Puppies developed bone disease after consuming a specific puppy formula.
- A rescue group is suing for $150,000 to cover medical treatments.
- The formula manufacturer voluntarily recalled the product due to vitamin D issues.

Hazel's House Animal Rescue, located in Oregon, has filed a lawsuit against Revival Animal Health. The legal action stems from five puppies developing bone disease, identified as rickets, after consuming the company's Breeder's Edge Foster Care puppy formula.
The puppies were discovered abandoned and, by approximately four weeks old, exhibited difficulty walking. Subsequent FDA testing indicated inconsistent levels of Vitamin D within the formula. This prompted Revival Animal Health to voluntarily recall the product in April.
The rescue reports that the affected puppies have sustained leg deformities and is seeking $150,000 in damages for necessary medical treatment and orthopedic surgeries. A GoFundMe campaign has been initiated to gather funds for the extensive care required.
