In Saneta village, Punjab, a new rural health training center (RHTC) has been inaugurated, marking a significant step in bolstering healthcare infrastructure. This facility, part of Dr BR Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences, Mohali, is now offering outpatient services, laboratory facilities, and various vaccinations.
Plans are underway to soon operationalize a 10-bed indoor ward and a dedicated labour room. Additionally, the foundation stone for a medical interns' hostel was laid, which aims to ensure round-the-clock emergency and inpatient care.
The Punjab government reiterated its commitment to strengthening rural healthcare, aiming for accessible quality medical services for all citizens. A large multi-specialty health camp was also conducted, providing free consultations and diagnostics. An Aam Aadmi Clinic is also planned for the area.
