GP Warns: Rising Prostate Cancer Cases, Know the Signs
17 Feb
Summary
- Prostate cancer diagnoses are increasing, putting pressure on the urethra.
- Symptoms include frequent urination, weak stream, and incomplete bladder emptying.
- Early assessment is crucial and could potentially save your life.

The number of prostate cancer diagnoses is on the rise, according to NHS GP Dr. Suraj Kukadia, widely recognized as Dr. Sooj. He recently shared on Instagram that an enlarged prostate can grow outwards and inwards, exerting pressure on the urethra and subsequently the bladder.
Dr. Sooj detailed several symptoms associated with this condition. These include a more frequent urge to urinate, a noticeably weaker urine stream requiring straining, and a persistent feeling that the bladder has not fully emptied. He also noted that lower back pain, erectile dysfunction, and blood in the urine can be indicative of prostate issues.
