Recall Alert: Potentially Deadly Personal Care Products Sold at Major Retailers
20 Dec
Summary
- Personal care products from Target, Walmart, and Amazon recalled.
- Recalled items contain lidocaine or minoxidil, posing poisoning risks.
- Packaging lacks child-resistant features, a violation of US safety standards.

Florida-based Plantimex has recalled 50,000 units of its Mamisan Pain Relieving Topical Ointment, sold nationwide at Target and Walmart between April 2024 and October 2025. This product contains lidocaine, an anesthetic that poses a risk of heart stoppage if ingested. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) mandated child-resistant packaging for products containing lidocaine due to the danger of accidental consumption by children.
Similarly, Feel the Beard Minoxidil Beard Growth Oil, sold on Amazon from April to September 2025, has also been recalled. This China-made product contains minoxidil, which can cause a fatal drop in blood pressure if consumed. The CPSC requires minoxidil products to be sold in child-resistant packaging to prevent poisoning in young children.
