Premature Baby Saved by Tesco Bag: Doctors' Innovative Technique

On November 12, 2025, a premature baby born 13 weeks early was saved by an unconventional but effective medical technique. 29-year-old Lauren Hawking from Plymouth gave birth to her son, Blake, in an emergency C-section after her waters broke at just 5 months of pregnancy. To help regulate Blake's body temperature after the premature delivery, doctors placed the newborn inside a Tesco-branded sandwich bag.
