In Nandwal village, Bahraich, a 36-year-old woman experienced excruciating labor pains while alone at home. Her husband had passed away six months prior. In a desperate attempt to alleviate the agony, she reportedly inflicted a severe abdominal wound on herself.
Neighbors, alerted by her cries, discovered her in critical condition and contacted the local ANM. She was transported to the Fakharpur community health center, where doctors successfully facilitated the delivery of a healthy baby girl. However, the woman's serious injuries necessitated further medical intervention.
Officials at the district hospital confirmed she sustained a deep abdominal cut with internal injuries. She was immediately referred to the KGMU Trauma Centre in Lucknow for advanced treatment, reportedly stating her actions were due to unbearable pain before losing consciousness.
