Following a confirmed H1N1 (swine flu) case of a woman from trans-Ganga, health officials in Prayagraj have escalated their surveillance efforts. The affected woman is currently receiving treatment in the isolation ward at SRN hospital. District health authorities have prepared necessary medical facilities, designating beds for potential H1N1 patients across all district hospitals.
A 10-bed isolation ward is operational at Tej Bahadur Sapru hospital, while a more substantial 40-bed isolation ward is ready at Swaroop Rani Nehru (SRN) hospital. Private healthcare providers and pathology centers have been briefed on national guidelines for H1N1 testing and treatment via video conference.
Residents experiencing fever, cough, or similar symptoms are advised to seek medical attention promptly and avoid self-medication. H1N1 testing and medications are accessible free of charge at all government district hospitals. Preventive measures include covering coughs and sneezes, frequent hand washing, avoiding handshakes, and minimizing exposure to crowded areas.
