A woman in Uttar Pradesh, Vineeta Shukla, has seemingly conquered death after a jarring experience on the Bareilly-Haridwar NH-74 highway. Declared brain-dead by doctors at a Bareilly hospital and discharged with little hope, her husband was bringing her home on February 24 when the ambulance hit a large pothole.
This sudden jolt on the pothole-ridden road brought about an unexpected revival for Vineeta. Her husband reported that she had stopped breathing and had only a sinking heartbeat before the incident. Following the jolt, she began breathing normally again, prompting her husband to halt funeral preparations and rush her to Neurocity Hospital in Pilibhit.
At Neurocity Hospital, Vineeta received critical medical care. Doctors confirmed that while her brainstem reflexes were absent and her Glasgow Coma Scale had dropped to three in Bareilly, she had recovered significantly. She returned home on Monday, reportedly awake and conversing with her family, marking a remarkable recovery from a dire medical situation.
