Postpartum weight loss presents unique challenges for new mothers. Digital creator Nidhi Tyagi openly discussed her experience on Instagram, highlighting that losing pregnancy weight differs significantly from typical weight loss due to hormonal recovery, sleep deprivation, and muscle loss.
Tyagi gained approximately 20 kgs during her pregnancy and initially lost only 10 kgs after delivery. She found that breastfeeding and maintaining a home-cooked diet did not result in further weight reduction for about a year. Her focus shifted to rebuilding strength, as her body was not ready for intense workouts.
After 15 months postpartum, Tyagi began working out with a specialized instructor, focusing on core exercises, cardio, and strength training. This approach not only helped her regain strength but also cured her diastasis recti, leading to a gradual loss of 4-5 kgs over four months and a significant improvement in her overall well-being.
