- Botox is offered at a competitive $9 per unit price.

Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, the nation's largest affiliate, has launched an innovative aesthetic services program in Sacramento. This initiative includes offerings such as Botox, neurotoxin injections, fillers, and vein treatments, marking a first-of-its-kind pivot to cosmetic care for the organization.
The primary goal of these new services is to generate revenue that can bridge critical funding gaps and subsidize other essential healthcare offerings. Dr. Laura Dalton explained that while abortion services are important, the majority of services provided focus on sexual and reproductive health.
This strategic shift was prompted by significant financial challenges, including federal budget cuts that previously led to the loss of Medicaid reimbursements. These cuts, enacted under H.R. 1, resulted in the closure of five health centers and the sunsetting of primary care and prenatal programs.
The aesthetic services are offered at competitive prices, with Botox units costing $9, compared to the usual industry rate of $14 to $16. This new revenue stream is crucial for the organization's financial stability and its ability to continue providing a wide range of health services.
Following federal budget cuts that impacted reimbursements, Planned Parenthood Mar Monte is also expanding its offerings to include specialized menopause and hormone therapy care. This diversification of services aims to secure its financial future and ensure continued access to care for underserved populations.
