On Wednesday, the health department initiated surprise inspections across Pinjore, focusing on three chemist shops, a nursing home, and two laboratories. These actions were undertaken to enforce the Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP) Act and the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PC-PNDT) Act, with an underlying aim to improve the sex ratio.
The inspections covered Chaudhary Medical Centre, Chemist Drugist Aggarwal Medicose, and Dawa India Generic Pharmacy, examining MTP medicines and records. JN Shoury Multispeciality Hospital was also inspected, with a focus on C-section rates, which were noted as relatively high. Investigations into medical records are ongoing.
Furthermore, Ajay Clinical Laboratory was found to have an expired clinical establishment certificate, while Alfa Medical Laboratory lacked the required certification. Consequently, show-cause notices were issued to all non-compliant establishments, demanding explanations for the identified deficiencies and alleged violations.
