Chandigarh's Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) has successfully completed a critical restructuring of its Laboratory, X-ray, and Radiotherapy technical cadres. The comprehensive review, managed by a Special Cell established on July 11, 2025, meticulously examined promotion cases spanning from March 1, 1992, to December 31, 2024. This extensive process involved verifying decades of seniority records and eligibility criteria.
In total, approximately 659 employees were part of this exercise, leading to the processing of nearly 1,120 promotions. The Laboratory cadre saw the largest number of promotions, with 899 processed, followed by the X-ray cadre with 173 promotions and the Radiotherapy cadre with 48.
PGIMER Director Prof. Vivek Lal commended the Special Cell and Special Departmental Promotion Committee for their diligent work, emphasizing the institute's dedication to transparency and employee welfare. He noted that this restructuring signifies a commitment to the dignity and professional advancement of the technical workforce.
