The year 2025 was a pivotal period for PGIMER Chandigarh, characterized by significant clinical advancements, academic leadership, and national accolades. Director Prof Vivek Lal highlighted the institute's dedication to serving the nation through various initiatives and compassionate care.
Future endeavors at PGIMER include the establishment of an Advanced Neurosciences Block, a Maternal and Child Care Centre, and a Critical Care Block. Plans also encompass an MBBS undergraduate college and new trauma centers, alongside satellite centers in Una and Ferozpur to decentralize tertiary care.
Concurrently, Chandigarh's Health Department is spearheading a comprehensive digitization of health services. This project, already implemented in Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, aims to streamline patient registration, reporting, and appointments, extending to GMSH-16 and civil hospitals to create a paperless, efficient healthcare system.
