Two urban health centers, inspired by Delhi's mohalla clinics, are now operational in Patna, with a formal inauguration by the health minister expected soon. One center is located in Dariyapur Bhatti (ward no. 38), the largest PMC ward, and the other in Nand Nagar Colony (ward no. 48).
These facilities aim to offer free treatment, regular health check-ups, and essential medicines to residents within the Patna Municipal Corporation area. Services include OPD consultations, care for pregnant women, vaccinations, child immunization, and newborn care. The Dariyapur Bhatti center was constructed at a cost of Rs1.16 crore on freed land, featuring 12 rooms and emergency beds. The Nand Nagar Colony center, developed as an 'Ayushman Arogya Mandir,' is set to benefit over one lakh people, including those from slum areas. Patients will be charged a nominal fee of Rs2 for medical consultancy at these centers, enhancing accessible healthcare for students and local residents.
