Beat the Heat: Patna's Cool Water Relief!
21 Apr
Summary
- Mobile water units and kiosks installed across the city.
- Water-on-wheels vehicles offer refillable water bottles.
- Drinking water kiosks equipped with earthen pots for cooling.

To provide relief from the scorching summer heat, the Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) has deployed drinking water kiosks and mobile 'Nigam Neer' units. These water-on-wheels vehicles are equipped with 200-litre tanks, featuring taps for convenient water bottle refilling.
Currently stationed at major hubs like Patna Junction and GPO roundabout, these mobile units are being strategically moved to crowded areas based on daily demand. Furthermore, traditional 'pyau' kiosks have been established throughout the city's administrative circles, each housing two 100-litre earthen pots that are regularly cleaned and refilled by municipal staff.
The PMC aims to ensure easy access to water for all citizens. Residents can report any service deficiencies or water quality concerns through circle offices, a toll-free number, or the municipal WhatsApp chatbot.
