Dengue Cases Plummet: Weak Monsoon Aids Panchkula
29 Aug
Summary
- Panchkula reports only seven dengue cases this year.
- Dengue and malaria cases significantly lower than last year.
- Health teams conduct inspections and anti-mosquito fogging.

Panchkula has experienced a substantial reduction in dengue cases during the current year, with only seven cases reported as of August 25. This marks a positive development compared to the 19 dengue cases recorded by the same date in the previous year. Health officials indicate that a weaker monsoon season may have contributed to this decline.
Further reinforcing the positive health outlook, the district has also detected just seven malaria cases so far. This contrasts sharply with the 62 dengue cases and six malaria cases reported in the entire previous year. Health authorities are maintaining vigilance, with door-to-door inspections and anti-mosquito fogging operations underway in populated and vulnerable areas.
A dedicated dengue ward with limited beds is prepared for patient treatment if needed. Residents are urged to prevent water accumulation, as stagnant water serves as a breeding ground for Aedes mosquitoes, the transmitters of dengue. The health department is also collaborating with volunteers for widespread inspections.
