- Her husband reported she became unresponsive after receiving painkillers.
- A GoFundMe campaign has been established to support her family.

Rachel Tussey, a 47-year-old Ohio mother and TikTok personality known as "midlifeunmuted," died on March 17 after a complication arose from her "mommy makeover" surgery. The procedure, an abdominoplasty, took place on February 25 at JourneyLite Surgery Center in Evendale.
Tussey's husband shared that she became unresponsive in the recovery room after receiving dilaudid and fentanyl painkillers. Despite receiving Narcan and prompt medical attention, she suffered an anoxic brain injury and was taken off life support two weeks later.
Tussey, who garnered over 70,000 followers on TikTok, was remembered for her vibrant spirit and community involvement, including hurricane relief efforts. A GoFundMe campaign has since raised over $35,000 for her husband and three children.
Dr. Shahryar Tork, who performed the surgery, stated it was completed successfully and she was in "excellent condition" before transferring care to the surgery center's overnight staff. He has since discontinued procedures at that facility.
The family's lawyer confirmed Tussey suffered a permanent brain injury and vowed a thorough investigation into the preventable tragedy, while the surgery center has not responded to inquiries.
