NYC Confirms First Case of Severe Mpox Clade I

While the risk to New Yorkers is considered low, the city's Health Department is advising individuals at higher risk for mpox to get vaccinated. Those who have previously contracted mpox do not need to seek vaccination.

This case is the 12th diagnosis of mpox clade I recorded in the United States.
