Investigations revealed that 34 cooling towers across 33 buildings in the neighborhood tested positive for live Legionella bacteria. These towers, along with all affected buildings, have undergone cleaning procedures.
City health officials expressed confidence that their rapid and aggressive response, including extensive testing and remediation, has successfully eradicated the source of the bacteria's spread.
Encouragingly, no new cases have been diagnosed in the six days leading up to the announcement, and no individuals have reported new symptoms in over ten days, suggesting the outbreak is contained.
