Noida Tackles H1N1, Dengue with New Fever Clinic

A new fever clinic has been established at the district hospital in Noida to combat the increasing prevalence of seasonal diseases, including H1N1, dengue, and malaria. This specialized facility is operational daily from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The clinic's primary objective is to offer patients expedited access to medical consultation and treatment, thereby avoiding lengthy queues and congested waiting spaces. Essential medicines will also be readily available on-site, streamlining the recovery process for individuals seeking care.

This initiative is expected to reduce the burden on the general Outpatient Department (OPD) and minimize the risk of infection transmission among patients. On its inaugural day, approximately 60 patients utilized the services of the new clinic, according to health officials.

The district has witnessed a significant surge in H1N1 cases, with Gautam Buddh Nagar alone accounting for over 200 of the more than 550 cases reported across Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, the district has recorded 56 dengue and 41 malaria cases.

In response to the escalating health concerns, the health department has also initiated swine flu testing at community health centers and district hospitals, utilizing rapid antigen kits for suspected cases. Health authorities are advising citizens to be vigilant for symptoms like sudden fever, cough, and body ache, and to seek medical attention if symptoms persist or worsen.
