NIMHANS Expands ManoSandesh to Reach Kannada Speakers

NIMHANS has expanded its public mental health outreach with a new Kannada version of the ManoSandesh video series. This initiative aims to enhance access to credible, evidence-based mental health guidance for Kannada speakers.
The series features NIMHANS faculty addressing a wide spectrum of concerns, including depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorder. Originally launched in English on August 15, 2025, ManoSandesh has already released 37 videos in English and Hindi, garnering positive public reception.
The Kannada edition was officially released on National Science Day at the NIMHANS Convention Centre. This expansion into regional languages is a strategic move to strengthen mental health literacy throughout Karnataka. Institute officials believe language accessibility is crucial for reducing stigma and promoting timely help-seeking behaviours.
The new Kannada videos are now available on the official NIMHANS YouTube channel, accessible via a dedicated playlist.
