Following surgery for a brain tumor, delayed scans and emergency surgery failed to prevent a stroke and subsequent coma, leading to permanent brain damage. Independent experts noted the prolonged chemotherapy exposed David to increased risks, including secondary blood cancers. He now requires daily assistance from his parents and suffers from significant cognitive and visual impairment, as well as depression.
David's legal team claims cumulative failures in his care, from consent to prolonged inappropriate chemotherapy, have devastated his life. Lawyers state that over 30 patients are now taking legal action against the trust, citing evidence of systemic issues and harmful cancer treatments. The trust stated it cannot comment due to ongoing legal claims.
