10 May
Summary
- New mother survived a life-threatening cardiac arrest after childbirth.
- Doctors successfully treated two large blood clots in her lungs.
- She is now home with her newborn daughter and older child.

A new mother, Chelsea Cheveria, experienced a critical medical emergency shortly after the birth of her second child, Zairah. Just 45 minutes after a successful C-section on February 10th, Cheveria went into cardiac arrest. Medical professionals immediately intervened, performing CPR and preparing advanced life support.
Her diagnosis was a rare pulmonary embolism, with two large blood clots blocking blood flow to her lungs. Interventional cardiologist Dr. Keith Benzuly administered blood thinners and performed a pulmonary thrombectomy to remove the clots, saving her life.
Cheveria awoke in the ICU, recovering from broken ribs and sternum due to CPR. She has since returned home with her newborn daughter and her 4-year-old daughter, Annayiah, expressing a desire to have more children.
Her mother, actress Jane McCreedy, emphasized that childbirth remains a dangerous event, despite its common perception. Cheveria plans to try for a third child using her remaining three embryos.
