New Hair Loss Drug Shows Promising Year-Long Results
15 Apr
Summary
- Experimental hair loss drug clascoterone demonstrated sustained growth.
- Long-term safety was also confirmed in men with pattern baldness.
- The drug met its primary goal in six-month studies with 1,465 men.

An experimental topical treatment for common pattern baldness, known as clascoterone, has demonstrated sustained hair growth and long-term safety in men. These findings emerged from a year-long extension study, building upon earlier positive results from late-stage clinical trials.
The late-stage data, reported in December, indicated that clascoterone met its primary objectives in two large studies. Over a six-month period, the drug facilitated significant hair growth in 1,465 male participants. The subsequent year-long extension study has now confirmed the sustained nature of this hair growth and reaffirmed the treatment's safety profile for extended use.
