Summary
- PAGERS group launched for digestive disease research.
- New Urea Breath Test aids stomach ulcer detection.
- Antro-Duodenal Manometry diagnoses gut motility disorders.

A significant advancement in digestive disease research was marked by the launch of the Pan India Gastro Enterology Research Study Group (PAGERS) at the 14th International Digestive Diseases Conference. This collaborative platform will facilitate multi-centric studies across India, focusing on critical areas such as pancreatitis, obesity, fatty liver, and inflammatory bowel disease.
The conference also introduced two state-of-the-art diagnostic tools. The Urea Breath Test, a non-invasive method, is designed for the early detection of helicobacter pylori infections, a common cause of stomach ulcers and gastritis. Complementing this, the Antro-Duodenal Manometry equipment will assist in diagnosing gut motility disorders by assessing the strength of muscle contractions within the digestive tract.
