This advanced facility is poised to significantly improve access to life-saving treatments for various blood cancers and genetic disorders.
The new unit received a substantial CSR grant of ₹3.15 crore from Aditya Birla Capital, underscoring a commitment to making advanced medical care affordable. Governor Anandiben Patel emphasized support for poor patients and staff training, while Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak highlighted the government's dedication to transforming health infrastructure in the state, aiming for national leadership.
KGMU vice chancellor Prof Soniya Nityanand stated that eligible patients under government health schemes will receive treatment free of charge, ensuring equitable access. The university also announced plans for expansion, including seven additional HEPA-filtered rooms, further bolstering its capacity to treat complex conditions. Philanthropist Rajashree Birla's support was specifically acknowledged for benefiting underserved populations.
