The India Autism Centre in Kolkata is pioneering a clinical care software designed to meticulously record and assess the progress of neurodivergent individuals undergoing various therapies. This advanced system aims to create a comprehensive digital record, tracking everything from basic profile information and therapeutic activities to daily living skills and behavioral incidents.
This initiative is part of a large-scale research effort into neurodevelopmental disorders. The collected data, anonymized with explicit consent, will empower healthcare professionals and families to understand the efficacy of interventions. CEO Jaishankar Natarajan stated the software functions as a 'living digital diary' to improve care, not for surveillance.
The software will be a key component of Samaavesh, the Centre's new residential care facility for neurodivergent people, set to open in November 2026. Spanning 50 acres in Joka, Samaavesh will accommodate over 600 individuals, integrating client care, caregiver training, and extensive research into conditions like autism and ADHD.
