Rhys Edwards reported that his son experienced severe vomiting and dehydration shortly after consuming the formula, leading to hospital admission. It was only during his son's treatment that Mr. Edwards discovered he had inadvertently given his child an affected batch. He expressed feelings of guilt and bewilderment, stating parents place significant trust in brands like Nestle for quality control.
The FSA confirmed the toxin originated from an oil ingredient supplied by a third party, a supplier also used by Danone, which also recalled a batch of Aptamil formula. Nestle has stated they acted quickly and decisively to recall the products and apologized for the action required. The company reassures that the recall scope remains unchanged.
