Nashik Battles Dengue Surge: 3,200 Breeding Sites Found

Nashik's health department has significantly ramped up anti-dengue efforts, identifying nearly 3,200 mosquito breeding locations across residential and commercial properties. This intensive, ten-day drive involved surveying over 108,000 homes, covering more than 400,000 residents. All discovered breeding sites have been eliminated.
In addition to dengue, Nashik is also addressing an increase in swine flu cases. Between September 1 and 20, 114 swine flu infections were reported, contributing to a year-to-date total of 280 cases. Tragically, 11 deaths have been linked to swine flu so far.
The municipal corporation has issued advisories for citizens, particularly vulnerable groups, to take precautions against rising infections. Hospitals are on alert for seasonal influenza-like illnesses, and residents are urged to consult doctors promptly for any symptoms, avoiding self-medication.
