Actress Nargis Fakhri has shared details of her extensive healing process involving stem cell therapy for injuries sustained over the past decade. Fakhri underwent procedures in Bengaluru, receiving platelet injections for neck, lower back, hip, and hamstring issues, alongside bone marrow stem cell treatments for her knees. She reported feeling about 75% better in her knees within two and a half months following the latter treatment.
Fakhri detailed a history of knee injuries dating back to 2013, including partial meniscus tears in both knees. Despite doctors recommending surgery, she opted for physiotherapy and strengthening exercises, a lengthy process that took nearly a year to achieve a semblance of normalcy, though she always had to be cautious.
She is optimistic about continued recovery, aiming to be fully mobile within a couple more months. Dr. Gazanfar B. Patel, an orthopaedic surgeon, commented on the growing role of regenerative therapies like bone marrow-derived cell therapy and PRP injections in orthopaedics. He explained that these treatments stimulate the body's natural healing response, potentially offering pain relief and functional improvement.
