Narayana Hospital, Mysuru, announced on Thursday, February 19, 2026, the commissioning of a new, next-generation Linear Accelerator (LINAC) system. This upgrade significantly enhances the hospital's radiation oncology services.
The hospital has been a provider of advanced radiation therapy for a decade, and this latest enhancement further strengthens treatment accuracy, safety, and efficiency for cancer patients.
This development is crucial given rising cancer incidence in India. The new LINAC system reduces the need for patients from Mandya, Madikeri, Chamarajanagar, Hassan, and Ramanagaram to travel long distances for specialized treatment.
Founder and Chairman of Narayana Health, Devi Shetty, highlighted the need to extend advanced cancer care nationwide, aligning with ICMR estimates of a significant lifetime risk for Indians. Spiritual leader Sri Ganapathi Sachchidananda Swamiji also emphasized the role of a healthy lifestyle in cancer prevention.
