While under anesthesia for a breast augmentation, she developed a blood clot and experienced seizures. She was placed in an induced coma and transferred to KOC University Hospital, but her condition worsened.
An inquest heard evidence from a pathologist who reviewed translated medical documents. The conclusion reached was that Ms. Oswell's death was due to natural causes, specifically complications from a thromboembolism.
