MS Warning Signs Ignored by Young Woman
1 Apr
Summary
- Young woman delayed seeking diagnosis for MS symptoms for a decade.
- Initial symptoms included chest tightness and vibrating vision.
- She was diagnosed with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis in 2023.

Becky Lee, from Bristol, initially experienced vague symptoms such as chest tightness and vibrating vision starting in 2015. Despite seeking medical advice and being diagnosed with clinically isolated syndrome (CIS), a condition that often precedes multiple sclerosis (MS), she delayed further investigation for a decade, partly due to fear of a life-changing diagnosis.
Over the years, her symptoms, including dizziness and weakness, persisted and worsened. In February 2023, at the age of 32, Becky was diagnosed with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS), the most common form of the disease. She now manages her symptoms with medication and urges others to be aware of early warning signs.
