Loving Mom Dies in Childbirth; Twins Survive

Bonnie Macey, a 38-year-old mother described as "wonderfully loving," tragically died at East Surrey Hospital in Redhill in February 2025 due to complications during childbirth. She was pregnant with twins at the time of her death, and both babies survived and were subsequently born. Her partner, Tom Shipman, is now raising their four children alone and is seeking clarity on the circumstances surrounding Macey's passing.

An inquest into Bonnie Macey's death commenced at Surrey Coroner's Court in Woking on Tuesday and is anticipated to continue until Friday. Shipman recounted Macey as a vibrant individual with an infectious smile, who was overjoyed upon learning of her twin pregnancy. He expressed the profound grief of witnessing her final moments, calling the experience "truly heartbreaking."
