MorningStar Farms has voluntarily recalled two of its frozen plant-based products because of potential plastic contamination. The recall, announced on June 18, 2026, affects select packages of the brand's Buffalo Chik'n Nuggets and Hot & Spicy Sausage Patties.
The company initiated this recall after receiving customer complaints about possible plastic fragments in the products. Affected items include 10.5-ounce bags of Buffalo Chik'n Nuggets with specific 'Better If Used Before' dates in July 2027, and 8-ounce bags of Hot & Spicy Sausage Patties with 'Better If Used Before' dates also in July 2027.
These recalled products were distributed to grocery stores nationwide. MorningStar Farms has assured consumers that no other products from their brand are included in this recall. The company is urging consumers who purchased the affected items to discard them and contact MorningStar Farms for a full refund. A spokesperson for Mars Inc., the parent company, stated that consumer safety is their highest priority and that quality control procedures have been enhanced to prevent future issues. No injuries have been reported.
