Care Home Rises from Inadequate to Good
1 May
Summary
- Moormead Care Home in Swindon improved its rating to 'good'.
- Previous 'inadequate' rating cited low staff morale and slow response.
- Inspectors noted positive culture and quick call bell responses.

Moormead Care Home in Wroughton, Swindon, has achieved a 'good' rating following a recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). This marks a substantial improvement from its prior 'inadequate' rating, which was attributed to low staff morale and delayed responses to resident needs.
The CQC had previously imposed restrictions, preventing the home from accepting new residents without consent. These conditions have now been lifted after inspectors observed significant positive changes during their visit in February 2026. The February inspection assessed improvements made since a July 2025 visit, which highlighted concerns about call bell response times, staff morale, and inadequate care plans for at-risk residents.
Inspectors reported a positive shift, noting a culture of safety and a much quicker response to resident call bells. Usamah Islam, director of Fidelity Healthcare Ltd, expressed satisfaction with the outcome, stating the team worked tirelessly to achieve this result. He affirmed their commitment to continuous improvement and maintaining high standards of care.
