Labour Minister Vasamsetti Subhash has orchestrated the arrangement of ₹20 lakh for a crucial bone marrow transplant for a 14-year-old boy. The teenager, Charan Teja Pawan from Yerupalli village in Dr BR Ambedkar Konaseema district, suffers from Fanconi anaemia, a rare genetic blood disorder. His father approached the minister after facing difficulties with the treatment's high cost.
Minister Subhash collaborated with donors, charitable organizations, and hospital authorities to gather the necessary financial and logistical support. The life-saving procedure is scheduled at the Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute in Hyderabad. Bone marrow collection from the donor has been successfully completed, paving the way for the transplant expected next week.
The minister emphasized the responsibility to aid families in life-threatening medical emergencies and pledged ongoing assistance. He expressed optimism for the transplant's success and wished the boy a healthy future. Sahara Health and Development Society contributed ₹2 lakh towards the treatment, a gesture appreciated by the minister, who also lauded the hospital's cooperation.
