Cyclosporiasis, a gastrointestinal illness caused by the cyclospora parasite, commonly leads to abdominal cramps and diarrhea. While not considered fatal, the state continues to investigate potential sources, with a focus on lettuce and salad greens. As of last week, cases were identified in 71 of Michigan's 83 counties, with Wayne, Washtenaw, and Oakland counties reporting the highest concentrations.
