The Lampard Inquiry, focusing on over 2,000 mental health-related deaths within NHS care in Essex from 2000 to 2023, has experienced a significant timetable delay. The inquiry's conclusion is now expected in mid-2028, over six months later than initially planned.

Chair Baroness Lampard cited difficulties in receiving material, including witness statements and documents, from the Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) and other organizations as a primary reason for the postponement. An evidence session scheduled for April has been canceled and will be used to pre-record evidence instead.

EPUT's CEO, Paul Scott, apologized for any impact of delays, explaining that identifying information across a 24-year period involving predecessor organizations proved more challenging than anticipated. The North East London NHS Foundation Trust (NELFT) stated its commitment to fully engaging with the inquiry.
