Measles is a dangerous, highly contagious respiratory disease that spreads easily through the air. Up to 90% of those exposed can become infected, even with short contact. Symptoms include rash, fever, and respiratory issues, with potential complications ranging from pneumonia to brain damage.
The most effective protection against measles is vaccination, with two doses of the MMR vaccine offering 97% protection. The Department of Public Health is offering vaccination clinics and encourages appointments via their website.
