New Road Crossing Boosts Health Access in Maidstone

The project represents a collaborative effort between Kent County Council and the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, with funding provided by Active Travel England. Construction commenced on January 12 and is anticipated to take around six weeks to finish, with potential overnight road closures required.
In addition to the new puffin crossing and footway, the project includes enhancements to local streetlights and bus stops. Officials highlighted the project as a prime example of successful partnership work delivering tangible community advantages and making travel safer and more convenient.
