Maharashtra Opens First Menopause Clinics for Women

Maharashtra has pioneered a significant healthcare initiative by establishing the country's first dedicated menopause clinics. These facilities are integrated into government hospitals and urban health centers, providing comprehensive support for women during this natural life phase. The clinics offer a singular location for expert medical consultation, mental health counseling, and screenings for bone density, heart health, and hormonal balance.

Recognizing menopause as a sensitive and often overlooked period, the state government launched these specialized clinics to address the physical and mental challenges women face. These include hormonal changes, bone-related issues, sleep disturbances, and emotional stress. The initiative, launched on January 14, aims to ensure women receive adequate advice, treatment, and dignity throughout this transition.
