Maharashtra Health Dept Warns Outsourced Agencies

Maharashtra's health minister, Prakash Abitkar, has issued a strong warning to private agencies contracted for public health department services. District-level officials are mandated to conduct thorough inspections of all outsourced services within the next 15 days and present their findings. Agencies found violating contractual norms will have their bills withheld and will be subject to punitive measures, including potential termination and blacklisting.
The minister stressed the importance of quality, transparency, and strict adherence to contract rules. He also highlighted that officers found shielding negligent providers would face action. Abitkar urged for public outreach to inform citizens about available outsourced facilities and grievance redressal mechanisms.
