Wife of AFL Legend Starts Chemo Before Christmas

Lynette Bolton, wife of Sydney Swans legend Jude Bolton, has commenced chemotherapy treatment just six days before Christmas, following a recent breast cancer diagnosis. She discovered a lump in her right breast on November 26 and underwent numerous medical appointments and tests before starting her treatment on December 19.

Bolton shared her diagnosis and treatment experience on social media, expressing her feelings of anger and frustration about the rapid progression of her illness and the disruption to her life. She is scheduled for 12 to 24 weekly rounds of immunotherapy and chemotherapy, which she acknowledges means she must reassess her priorities for the coming year.

In her message to others facing similar battles, Bolton offered a message of solidarity, encouraging them to focus on getting through each day rather than feeling pressure to be constantly brave or positive. She hopes her open sharing will help others feel less alone as they navigate their own health challenges.
