A significant expansion of pathology services is underway at the Ram Sagar Mishra Joint Hospital in Lucknow. The hospital's pathology laboratory has been designated to analyze blood samples from three more healthcare facilities, including the TB Hospital Thakurganj, Bhau Rao Deoras Hospital Mahanagar, and the 50-bed Hospital Chinhat. This integration is facilitated through a spoke-and-hub model, streamlining sample processing and analysis.
The decision to expand the lab's responsibilities was based on its recently acquired modern equipment and the availability of trained medical staff. This strategic move is expected to enhance diagnostic turnaround times. Chief medical superintendent Dr. Vijay Sharma highlighted that connecting more hospitals to the central lab will ensure patients receive accurate test results more rapidly, improving the quality of care.
