The analysis examined health data from over 11,000 adults in the United States. It found that AST levels below 14 units per liter were associated with a 65% higher likelihood of early-onset colorectal cancer diagnosis, while ALT levels below 14 showed a 68% higher likelihood. Conversely, higher levels of AST and ALT were linked to a lower risk. Experts caution against altering screening practices based on these results alone. They recommend focusing on overall health and adhering to established screening protocols, such as starting at age 45 for average-risk individuals.
