Senior Care Facility Under Fire After Resident's Death
15 Aug
Summary
- Investigation substantiated claims of inadequate care for a 75-year-old resident.
- Facility records conflict regarding the resident's head injury and documented care.
- State health department found family's allegations to be substantiated.

Serious allegations have been leveled against a senior care facility in Loveland following an investigation into the death of a 75-year-old resident. The family of Jacqueline "Jackie" Bronson claims that staff at Bethesda Gardens of Loveland did not properly monitor her after a fall.
Records provided by the family indicate that Bronson fell out of bed on February 2. While initial reports to first responders and the family described her injuries, subsequent internal records appear to contradict each other regarding her condition and the care she received.
A head-injury checklist completed by staff marked "no" in all categories, suggesting no serious injury. However, another internal record noted Bronson complained of significant pain and needed to vomit, with staff assisting her. The family asserts this inconsistency demonstrates falsified documents.
The state's health department has substantiated the family's complaints, finding that a staff member who completed the head-injury checklist was not on shift during some of the indicated check times. Bethesda Gardens of Loveland has not responded to requests for comment.
