A significant five-day multi-specialty medical camp has been launched in Lakshadweep, aiming to deliver extensive medical care to island residents. This initiative, led by the Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, focuses on specialist consultations, treatments, and surgical procedures, including cataract surgeries. The camp is a testament to the Navy's ongoing commitment to augmenting the existing healthcare infrastructure in the region.
A joint medical team, comprising experienced doctors and specialists from the Indian Army, Navy, and Indian Air Force, is conducting the camp across Agatti, Kavaratti, Androth, Amini, and Minicoy islands. Beyond outpatient services in basic and super-specialties, the team will perform cataract and select general surgical procedures in collaboration with local health authorities, ensuring continuity of care through follow-up guidance.
