Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah noted that security concerns in certain areas have hindered access to children, leading to the three polio cases reported this year. He detailed significant improvements in health facilities, including the recruitment of 2,400 doctors and the outsourcing of management for 72 remote hospitals. The ongoing risk of poliovirus transmission from neighboring Afghanistan was also highlighted, underscoring the need for continued vigilance and public awareness efforts.
