The patient, who had a history of severe heart disease, previously underwent tricuspid valve replacement surgery. Subsequently, she received an artificial bicaval valve system due to advanced heart failure, a treatment involving valves in both the superior and inferior vena cava. Earlier this year, she developed a complete heart block, necessitating urgent pacemaker implantation.
Placing pacemaker leads through the superior vena cava posed a significant challenge due to the artificial valve, altering the heart's normal anatomy. The medical team utilized a specialized technique, overcoming difficulties in lead negotiation and placement to achieve successful implantation of a conventional pacemaker. This adaptation highlights technological advancements in managing complex cardiac scenarios.
